About PhotoProv
PhotoProv is where art meets play.
Where photographs spark stories, and stories remind us who we really are.
Born from the creative collision of photography and improv, PhotoProv invites the audience to submit photos that inspire entirely improvised scenes—funny, heartfelt, and completely made up on the spot. Every image becomes a mirror, reflecting our shared humanity in surprising ways, inviting us all to see differently.

our story
PhotoProv was created by Katarina Kojic, a photographer, improviser, and creative alchemist who’s spent nearly two decades exploring how we see—ourselves, each other, and the world.
Kat first combined her two passions in New York City with The Darkroom Blackbox Show—an immersive fusion of art exhibit and live improv. Imagine walking into a small black-box theatre where photographs hung gallery-style around the room. Each image became fuel for the performers on stage.
Actors delivered monologues, sketches, and fully improvised scenes inspired by the photos. In one signature segment—PhotoProv—photographs were projected one at a time, and the audience shouted “Stop!” to choose the next image that would ignite a story.
The result was unpredictable, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreakingly human—an experiment in perspective, creativity, and connection.
After many evolutions (and a few zip codes later), PhotoProv is finding new life in Philadelphia, co-produced by Katarina Kojic and SideQuest Theatre.
Together, we’re building a creative community dedicated to the art of seeing differently—through laughter, storytelling, and shared imagination.
Why We Do It
At its heart, PhotoProv is about seeing differently.
When we change how we see, we change what’s possible.
Sometimes that experience is funny.
Sometimes it’s moving.
But it’s always human.
